Our Blessed Lady of Victory. Victory Knoll (1922-) (Huntington, IN)
Biographical
The Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters (Victory Noll Sisters) are a women’s religious community based in Huntington, Indiana, founded in 1922. Their mission is to spread the Gospel by supporting marginalized groups, fostering leadership, and pursuing justice, with a special emphasis on serving the poor. Recently, they entered into a covenant with the Sisters of Providence, which offers them leadership support as their community ages and they have had no new members for 25 years.
Our community's journey began back in 1922, thanks to the vision of Father John Joseph Sigstein, who founded us under the name Missionary Catechists of Our Blessed Lady of Victory. This was more than just a formal start; it marked the beginning of our heartfelt commitment to serving others.
In 1925, OLVM took a significant step forward by relocating to Huntington. This move was made possible by the kindness and support of Bishop John Francis Noll, who not only offered us land but also inspired us with his encouragement. It was here that OLVM established the Victory Noll motherhouse, a place that remains the heartbeat of our mission to this day.
At the core of what OLVM does is a genuine passion for helping the poor and marginalized. OLVM believes in the power of the Gospel message, and OLVM works tirelessly to promote leadership, advocate for justice and equality, and support initiatives that empower communities to help themselves. Our journey is rooted in compassion and a desire to make a difference in others' lives.
