Biographical

Margaret Mann entered from Dublin, Ireland, on November 1, 1933, at the age of 25. She was a co-founder of the BVM Congregation alongside Mary Francis Clarke in Dublin. Margaret was among the first group to travel to Dubuque from Philadelphia. She established the ICA in Davenport in 1859 and served as the first novice mistress in Philadelphia from 1833 to 1843. From 1843 to 1859, she worked in Dubuque. She assisted Mother Clarke from 1869 until her death in 1873 and helped draft the first Rule. Margaret Mann died on December 25, 1873.
