Biographical
Terence James Donaghoe was born on February 20, 1795, in Aughnacloy, Ireland. He was ordained as a priest on May 24, 1823. On November 1, 1833, he co-founded the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Philadelphia. Throughout his life, he served as a priest, missionary, and vicar general of the Diocese of Dubuque. He was also a friend of Bishop John Hughes of New York. Father Donaghoe passed away on January 5, 1869.
