Sisters of the Holy Cross Vigil and Final Profession, part 2

This second video footage is the continuation of the same profession Mass, covering the core Rite of Profession through to the closing blessing.

The vows themselves: Each sister individually pronounces her perpetual vows aloud — first Sister Jacinta Kausabe, then Sister Lillian Nyakaisiki (in English), then Sister Veronica Fajardo (in Spanish). Each uses matching language: consecrating herself "under the special protection of Mary, our compassionate mother," vowing chastity, poverty, and obedience "according to the constitution of the congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross," and asking the congregation's president, Sister John Marie Steadman, to accept her commitment "in the name of the church and of the congregation." Sister Steadman formally accepts each vow in turn.

Investiture with insignia: The presider blesses the "insignia of their profession" and invests each sister with the silver heart, the congregation's symbol, described as a reminder of Mary as "our mother of sorrows" who stood at the foot of the cross.

Solemn blessing prayer: A long prayer recalls salvation history (Abraham and Sarah, the Exodus, Christ's death and resurrection) and asks the Holy Spirit to descend on "your daughters, Cinta, Lillian, and Veronica," that their lives may reveal Christ and bring comfort to the afflicted. The presider then formally confirms them as members of the community "sharing all things in common... now and in the future."

Sign of peace and Liturgy of the Eucharist: After a sign of peace and an extended sung "Hallelujah" section, the Mass proceeds through the offertory, a Eucharistic Prayer with special mention of the three newly professed sisters (naming Pope Benedict, Bishop Kevin, and Sister Joan Marie as congregational president), the Lord's Prayer (recited by the community "each in our own language"), and Communion.

Closing blessing and dismissal: The Mass closes with a final prayer for the three sisters, an act of consecration/blessing where they come forward to "receive God's blessings," and a closing blessing over the whole assembly, ending with "Let us go in peace to love and serve the Lord" — "Thanks be to God."
