Scope and Contents

The Fall 2010 issue of Servite Sisters Today centers on “Servite Sisters Sell Motherhouse,” announcing the sale of the Ladysmith motherhouse to Indianhead Community Action Agency, while retaining the cemetery and emphasizing stewardship and service to the poor. In the “President’s Message: Grief and Gratitude Are Not Incompatible,” Sister Theresa Sandok reflects on change, loss, and hope amid the closing of the motherhouse. “UNIFAS in Brazil” highlights Sisters Mary Alice Willems, Theresa Sandok, Sandra DeGidio, and Doris Ann Samens attending the International Servite Family conference focused on “Servants of Mary and Care of Creation”. A feature story recognizes Sister Virginia Schwartz receiving the Knight of Sight Fellowship Award and the 2010 Spirit of Stewardship Award for her humanitarian and parish service. The issue also includes “Partners Into the Future” on planned giving and a Donors list acknowledging supporters from the past year.
