Scope and Contents

This centennial issue celebrates 100 years since the Sisters’ 1912 founding, with over 200 guests attending a Mass presided over by Bishop Peter F. Christensen and a banquet in Ladysmith. Historical highlights recount the six founding Sisters, the opening of St. Mary’s School, and the establishment of St. Mary’s Hospital during the 1918 influenza epidemic. Sister Sandra DeGidio portrays Mother Mary Alphonse during festivities. The issue emphasizes faith, perseverance, and the congregation’s enduring charism of compassionate service.
