A handwritten note in one copy says: "Adapted from Pistoia Constitutions," referring to the Constitutions of the Mantellate Sisters, Servants of Mary, of Pistoia, Italy, who arrived in Ladysmith on 21 Nov 1913 to assist the new Ladysmith community and stayed until 26 Aug 1919.

Notes: In addition to the Constitution and Bylaws, there is a section called "Addenda," which includes the enactments of the 1968 Special General Chapter, revised observances, interim considerations, and experimentation in the areas of habit, use of money, and apostolate. Among the many revised observances is the discontinuation of the chapter of faults (22).
