Biographical

Sister M. Theophila Adomaitis, 90, of the Sisters of St. Casimir, was a former superior general, school supervisor, missionary in Argentina, and pastoral associate at St. Joseph Home and Loretto Hospital in Chicago. She died in Chicago's motherhouse infirmary. Sister Margaret Petcavage praised her warmth, energy, and quickness despite her age. From Mt. She later became supervisor of her congregation's schools and was elected third general superior in 1952, overseeing the opening of Maria High School and St. Joseph Home. She spent 13 years in Argentina teaching religion, English, and Lithuanian, then worked at St. Joseph Home and Loretto Hospital. Over 75, she volunteered in Mexico for three summers and was inducted into Chicago’s Senior Citizens Hall of Fame in 1981.
