Haunert, Sister Rose Marie, 1915-2011
Biographical
Sister Rose Marie Haunert, CPPS, born Helen Teresa Haunert on November 11, 1915, in River Mines, Missouri, entered the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood from River Rouge, Michigan, on August 25, 1931, and made her First Vows in 1934. She earned a B.A. in art from Fontbonne College in 1951 and a master’s degree in art from the Catholic University of America in 1960. Sr. Rose Marie taught art and mechanical drawing, including eighteen years at Bishop DuBourg High School in St. Louis, and created works for the Motherhouse, including the Paschal Candle stand in St. Joseph Chapel. She later cared for her aging parents and served the sick and homebound in parish ministry and at Blumeyer Apartments. In 2001, she received a Catholic Women Award from the Archdiocese of St. Louis as a Comforter/Nurturer. She died on January 17, 2011.
